Langkawi isn’t just one big island, but a collection of around 100 islands that form an archipelago. While most are uninhabited, a few have been designated for tourism so that visitors from all over the world can admire and appreciate the magical beauty of Langkawi. There are many island tours available from operators to get you started. Note that most tours do not operate during the monsoon season from July to mid-September as the seas become choppy and potentially dangerous.
Well, here are our journey!! We call it LANGKAWI ISLAND TOUR!!! Yiaaaaayyyyy...
Laman Padi
Wow, what we can see there?
Highlights the history, heritage and development of paddy cultivation as the oldest agricultural industry in Malaysia. Among the attractions here are the rice museum displaying artifacts, charts and photographs depicting the significance of the paddy cultivation in the country. Try your hand at paddy planting using traditional and/or modern methods. There is a restaurant offering popular traditional Malay recipes and local delicacies, which are prepared using rice as the main ingredient. Wanna know our whole story about Laman Padi? Langkawi is absolutely a shopping heaven for duty-free goods from around the world and Kuah happens to be Langkawi’s main location for shopping outlets!
Haji Ismail Store is the most famous chocolate paradise in Langkawi. You can find the stores in Kuah Town. Perfume stores, cigar shops, confectionary outlets, wine boutiques and other retail venues are a dime a dozen in this quarter of Langkawi Island. We were going crazy for chocolates and spent hundreds ringgit for them!
The night market in Chenang is also the shopping place which cannot be missed. They offered variety of seafood restaurants alongside the beach and stalls selling clothes and souvenirs with affordable prices.
Some of us have to buy new luggages just for items we bought in Langkawi. So, next time, please bring your extra luggage!
